Sustainable Farming: Green Fox Companies' Pledge to Green Growing

Written by Trinity Wold | Oct 6, 2025 9:00:00 PM

We come from a long line of hard-working, plant-loving, resourceful growers. And we’re proud to be the 5th generation carrying on the legacy of growing all of our own crops at our family-owned 6,000 acre, Central Minnesota farm, Rookie Farmers.

All of the crops grown and harvested in our fields follow our beliefs in regenerative farming, and it doesn’t just stop in the field. We continue our sustainable and innovative practices with every quality consumable and multi-use good produced just down the road at our Green Fox Companies plant.

Learn more about why we’re honored to be carrying out these sustainable farming traditions and our Pledge for a greener tomorrow.

what is regenerative farming?

Regenerative farming is the process of restoring soil that has been degraded from conventional farming for long term sustainability and efficiency. Crops can grow with sunlight and water, but crops won’t grow without healthy soil. And traditional practices strip the soil of its nutrients leaving it dryer and less dense season after season.

Together with Rookie Farmers, we are committed to regenerative farming through conservation and innovation. We utilize each part of the crops grown in our local fields, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Our zero-waste commitment creates value from every resource and promotes a circular economy that makes a positive impact on our world.

What Does it mean to be zero-waste?

There’s so much more to a plant than what’s harvested for consumption. Outside of our crops’ seeds and the unrefined oil produced here in our Green Fox plant, there’s a whole other side to their journey.

Because carbon-capturing and eco-friendliness are top of mind, we make the most of the entire plant whether it’s for industrial products and building materials or healthy foods and animal solutions. No matter what we have growing, we’re dedicated to zero waste! Which means we use 100% of the plant every single season.

Green Fox's Sustainability Pledge

Green Fox CompaniesSustainability Pledge keeps us rooted in the future and has the next generations in mind. As an agricultural processor, we promote sustainability and are deeply committed to reducing our carbon footprint. We recognize the importance of responsible farming and production and implement this in every aspect of our operation from the crops we grow and the energy we use. Our pledge is to uphold:

1. Energy Efficiency

Our facilities are equipped with energy-efficient lighting systems and equipment that minimizes electrical demand, ensuring we only use the necessary amounts of electricity. Our goal is to make every step in our production process as energy-efficient as possible! And we are constantly finding new ways to reduce our overall energy consumption that support peak operational performance.

2. Solar Power

We invest in solar energy systems to harness the power of the sun which reduces our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. The clean, renewable energy we generate onsite helps us work towards a sustainable, resilient future for our company, and the communities we serve.

3. Hemp Cultivation

Processing hemp is a part of our commitment to sustainable farming and carbon sequestration. Hemp is a low-impact, versatile crop that absorbs and stores carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, improving soil health and requiring less resources than traditional crops.

Hemp’s ability to capture carbon contributes to climate stabilization and the reduction of greenhouse gases. Hemp also supports the development of eco-friendly products which helps us contribute to a circular economy.

4. Zero-Waste Commitment

We’re dedicated to using every part of the plant to minimize crop waste. The seeds, fibers, oils, biomass, and other products we create help us make sure no part of the plant goes unused. This transforms potential waste into a valuable resource for farms, industrial companies, builders, and of course, you.

5. Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is a journey which is why we are committed to continually improving our processes. We are always seeking new technologies, partnerships, and practices that help us reduce our environmental impacts and conserve resources for the well-being of our planet.

Why Are Regenerative Farming and Green Business Practices Important?

Regenerative farming is so important because these practices don’t just sustain our planet’s health, they help to restore it. And restoring and maintaining the soil for the sake of our food and future is something we are proud to support.
